CDCDP™ is confirmed as prequalification for US Department of Energy DCEP certification |
[CLOSE] |
The data center industry and The US Department of Energy are partnering to develop
a certification process; the Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP) leading to qualified
individuals able to evaluate the energy status and efficiency opportunities in data
centers. The key objective of this new qualification is to raise the standards of
those involved in energy assessments, to accelerate energy savings in the dynamic
and energy intensive marketplace of data centers.
Through a significant period of collaboration, The US Department of Energy has confirmed
that the CDCDP™ program by CNet has been officially accepted as a pre-qualification
for their specialist DCEP certification.
In recognition of the companies’ status as a truly global technical training company,
CNet were invited to attend and comment on the DCEP pilot course in San Francisco
in April. CNet’s Group Technical Director-Gary Thornton attended the pilot course,
after an intense training program and tough examination he successfully passed the
initial “Generalist Level” examination and has now passed the HVAC “Specialist”
element of the DCEP program. The DCEP program is designed to be a highly technical
specialist certification, Gary’s achievement on this course highlights his vast
technical knowledge and ability, and it is this expertise which reinforces CNet’s
proud position as market leader in technical training.
“It was an excellent course and when the full program is developed from these initial
pilots, I’m sure CNet will add it to their growing portfolio of data centre training
courses”, Gary Thornton said.
CNet’s Managing Director-Andrew Stevens also commented “for CNet to be invited onto
this new program and Gary to be the only non US attendee, is fantastic recognition
of CNet’s global presence and acceptance by the industry as a market leader and
innovator; it also confirms the CDCDP™ program as a leading worldwide data centre
qualification. We are looking forward to working closely with the US government
on this new specialist training program”.
